Sounding the Trumpet on False Traditions

Today's post is probably the most eye opening and important message I have shared this year! There is so much that the Spirit has impressed on my mind over the last year about a false traditions that are unknowingly wreaking havoc on marriages and families. I have felt so strong that this very tradition is the number one tool Satan uses that opens up the door to a spirit of rebellion, a spirit of adultery, a spirit of promiscuity, physical & spiritual attacks, and addictions of every kind.

This message will be very to difficult to hear and I truly believe that 1 out of every 6 people who hear it will feel the truth of it, but only 1 out of every 20 people will act. I have never been prompted so strongly to share a message as I have with this one. It's a message that won't be well received by those who are not spiritually prepared to hear it.

With the day and hour that we are living in, we have to make some powerful changes in our lives and put off the natural man. This means also putting off the false traditions that have been loved and celebrated by the natural man for so long. It means stepping into a completely new life. Forsaking old ways. This will be difficult for many to do as these traditions are so deeply rooted in Babylon and for many of us, our roots run deep - but I really feel that the Lord is guiding us in this direction!

Hi Lindsey,

Great video! Thank you for your posts. I've only decorated once for Halloween my first year of marriage. It just felt odd so I stopped. And last year we talked our kids into forgoing trick-o-treating and they had a blast with us at home and we aren't looking back!

You and I are on a similar path to truth. It is life changing and totally transforming. Hard but worth it.

I'd like to challenge you to now look into Christmas and the false traditions surrounding it. It actually isn't the day Christ was born. Even the tree's we have in our homes are Pagan. For the last two years we have donated our entire Christmas money to free the captive (Operation Underground Railroad). We have six children 10 years old and under. When we explained to them what was happening to these kids and the false traditions surrounding Christmas - they ALL were eager to drop Christmas and save these children. We don't even have so much as a stocking. We have a feast on the floor Christmas Eve - food that we imagine would have been eaten in Christ's time. We dance in praise to the Lord and to Jesus and lay on the floor and sing praises to Him. It has been the most spiritual experiences we've had as a family. And when we awake - we wake to the greatest present and gift - The Lord. :)

Thank you so much for sharing with me Ruth! When learning about Halloween, I learned what you spoke of about the other holidays as well. It is amazing how much early Christianity morphed Paganism into its traditions in order to gain converts. My desire is to make Christ my focus in all I do and celebrate. I love your new traditions that you've started. I felt to also start new traditions centered around charity and giving.

I received your other comment, and I just want to say that I too have had a similar experience, but have never shared. I'm so happy to hear that others are on the same path. What I love about this blog, is that it allows people who feel alone in their wonderful experiences, to learn that there are many of us who on the same journey, learning the same truths. We are not so alone after all 😊❤️

I would love to hear of some other ideas of how to not just obstain from the holiday, but to make it a day of goodness.

I'm not sure if you were asking Lindsey (the author of the blog), but hey! I'll throw in my two cents. :D

The first thing I recommend is asking the Lord what He would have you do for any particular holiday you are pondering. I ask Him a lot of questions. Our Christmas tradition changed three years ago when I wasn't even expecting it. I had prayed about Christmas but the answer came later. I was doing something else and I heard the Lord say to me, "Ruth, make not celebration of my birth a day of merchandise." At this point we were giving only about two simple presents to our children. We have always told them "Santa isn't real but Jesus is" and we don't do Santa at all. We were already giving to charity and doing very Christ centered things for Christmas. But I had told the Lord about six years ago I would give Him whatever He asked. And then life got interesting.

So for Christmas we still focus on giving to others and we focus specifically on "freeing the captive" - child trafficking via Operation Underground Railroad. We pray for and find opportunities to personally help others and go out of our way for new opportunities during Christmas time. And then we focus more on talking about Christ and visualizations on the life of Christ. Christmas Eve we have a dinner on the floor in candlelight with "Jewish" type food: figs, dates, fish, goat cheese, naan bread, grapes, pomegranate, you name it. We pray and invite Christ to eat with us. We clean up the floor and then play music that praises Christ and God. And we dance! It is a very holy experience. The dancing is simple and circular. Praising movements of reaching arms and turning. The music is moving and not your normal LDS music. We have found artists who are not LDS but who love the Lord and have music that helps us to dance in praise of Him. Then we all lay on the floor with our heads in a circle, facing the ceiling. We praise Christ and say His name and every name we can think of that He is called, "Messiah, The True Vine, Yeshua, Son of David, Redeemer, Keeper of the Gate, The Holy One of Israel, etc." And we sing and praise Him. We pray - each person prays and praises the Lord. My husband gives blessings and I hold the kids. Things like that. The Lord guides the celebration for us and each of my children that can communicate their feelings has said it was the most powerful spirit they had ever felt.

For Easter we have never done the Easter bunny nor given baskets of candy so we didn't have to change that. But we now celebrate the entire week of Passover when it is actually Passover. And each night we go into detail of Christ's life and what He was experiencing that day 2000+ years ago at that time. We hold nothing back in re-telling His life, miracles, and suffering. And all of our children have been blessed to see parts of Christ's life in dreams, to converse with Him personally, and some have been personally blessed by Him. I have had the Spirit tell me it was through changing these holidays and making them holy-days as well as being willing to not withhold anything from Him. I don't know if that helps. It really comes down to what the Lord tells you to do for your family. He knows you best and each family is different. Some children wouldn't like what I just described or it would feel awkward or unusual. When you do what the Spirit tells you to, you will be guided to the Perfect Day with Him over and over. He is mighty to save and the great Redeemer.
