Something amazing happened the other night but before I share I want to recap the weekend. This last weekend was general conference. It was so wonderful to hear the prophet and apostles speak. The speakers are not assigned topics, but instead pray for what they are to speak about. This is why I am always very excited when I hear a common theme throughout conference.
This time the common message was about committing ourselves to the savior and His gospel. Not just having a testimony but committing ourselves through our actions and serving others. The parable of the 10 virgins was spoken of and the New Testament scripture of Jesus asking Peter three times if he loves Him - this was spoken of throughout conference. We were also counseled by our loving prophet that during these times of negative things going on in the world around us that we look for the positive and be glad.
I feel that we are now at that point in time where it is the parable of the 10 virgins. Jesus will be here soon and if we are not prepared and our lamps filled with oil (our testimonies and commitment) we will miss out. If we are committed to Him and we really know Him, then we won't be caught off guard when he comes. We will be ready. Jesus asked Peter if he really loved Him, because if he really loved Jesus then he needed to "feed his sheep" - or share the gospel. That's what Peter did. He went on to share the gospel until the day of his death.
I see that final push to share the gospel with all nations of the earth. The first presidency just announced that the age requirement for missionary service has been lowered from age 19 to age 18 for boys and age 21 to age 19 for girls. This was very exciting news and of course means that there will be a flood of missionaries into the mission field over the next 12 months. It's that final stretch in that final inning and the saints are giving that final push with all of our might before the Lord comes. I really feel that He will be here soon especially with this large flood of missionary work like we have never seen before!
This is why the prophet tells us to be glad and focus on the positive. With all the negative happening in the world around us, it means that the time is at hand. We know that these things must come to pass prior to the return of the Savior. So why put all your energy into being upset or fearful? It will do you no good. Be happy that the Savior will be here soon and everything imaginably great and good will follow His return.
This leads me to tell you what happened the other night. It was Saturday night into Sunday morning about 2:00 am. I awoke to the sound of trumpets playing. It was so strange yet for some reason I wasn't startled or confused but happy and enjoying them. They were beautiful and sounding together as if in celebration. It was a very happy sound and the music very uplifting. I had never heard anything like it before. They sounded distant yet loud enough to wake me and I could hear them inside of me (if that makes any sense). I lay there in the dark just listening to them and smiling. I knew they were apart of something good. Finally my husband got up and turned the lamp on. He must have been hearing them to, or so I thought. He never gets up in the night. As I listened to him walk through the house I continued to enjoy the trumpets. The more I focused on them, the louder they got.
I then heard my husband turn on the heater. He came back to bed. "Do you hear those trumpets to?" I asked him
"What are you talking about" he replied.
Just then the heater kicked on. It was so loud that it drowned out the music and I could no longer hear it. I went back to sleep pondering on what had just happened.
Two days later, I decided to google it. I typed in "trumpets sounding in the night" and "I heard trumpets last night". Wow! I couldn't believe it. Other people have been hearing the same thing I have over the course of the last year. I couldn't help but wonder, could this be it? Is heaven sounding the trumpets for Christ's return? Maybe there has been a big celebration going on in the spirit world and the veil is quite thin. People on earth are hearing the celebration so that we might also know that the time is just about here. Are we prepared? If so, we can and should rejoice!
I began to think about in Revelation when John speaks about the seven trumpets. Could this be the first trumpet sounding? Maybe it has been sounding over the last year to prepare us for the first of many woes. If you are prepared you will recognize scripture coming to pass. These 7 woes or 7 trumpets are the final things that must happen before Christ returns. They are the opening of the seventh seal.
I'm telling you that I was completely taken by the Spirit when I likened what I heard unto the scriptures. I believe this 7th seal is about to open. It will be a terrible time for those who are not prepared and a wonderful time for those who are ready to meet the Lord.
As I bean thinking about all of this I wondered if there may have been any significance in hearing the trumpets on the early morning of October 7th 2012. In my search I found that October 7th was Hoshana Rabbah on the Jewish calendar. I learned that Hoshana Rabbah ""Great Hoshana/Supplication" is the 7th day of Sukkot which is the "Feast of Tabernacles". On the 2012 calendar Sukkot is celebrated 30 September –7 October. I then realized that the dates general conference is held on every year, (the first week of April and October) falls on/near passover and the Feast of
the Trumpets, Yom Kippur and the Feast of the Tabernacle. These Jewish holidays directly pertain to the Second Coming. I'm not sure if there is anything significant about these Jewish holidays and general conference lining up but I do know that both the Jewish holidays as in the old testament and the dates for general conference were selected by the Lord.
Aside
from the dates and their significance, I know what I heard on the early morning
of October 7th. I know from scriptures and modern day revelation that we are
living in the last days prior to Christ's return. I know what those days entail
and I know that now is the time to be prepared. There is no delay for
repentance because there is no time. If there is anything you need to take care of whether great or small, now is the time to do it. Repent and become clean so that you can meet the Lord when He comes.
I say this in the name of Jesus Christ - amen.
